Imitation Game

Absolutely Brilliant. Based on a true story, this film moved me. I lost myself in this movie. Benedict Cumberbatch already had some experience playing a genius under his belt, so it was not too much of a stretch for his acting abilities. The same could be said for Keira Knightley, too. Alex Lawther, however, did splendidly portraying Alan Turing (Cumberbatch) as a young boy. He deserves some credit for playing an awkward boy who discovers he’s in love with his best friend (another boy). Lawther’s performance was just as beautiful and heartfelt as any of the other actors. He was believable, and I hope to see him in more films.

As period pieces go, everything was in place: cars, hairstyles, fashion.

This movie presented the back-story of Turing’s homosexuality very well. It blended in with the primary storyline while maintaining its own strength. Well done, writers!!

Please go see this movie if you haven’t already.
